This Privacy Policy explains how Remloc ("Remloc," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the Remloc mobile app, related app services, and the Remloc website at https://remloc.xyz (together, the "Service").

Remloc is a location-based reminder app. Location is therefore important to the Service, but we design Remloc to minimize location collection, avoid raw movement history, and keep reminder control with you.

This policy is intended for publication and app-store review, but it should still be reviewed by qualified legal counsel before production launch in each region where Remloc is distributed.

Information we collect

Account information

When you create or use an account, we collect information needed to authenticate you and provide account features, such as:

• Email address.
• Authentication identifiers and session information from Clerk.
• Account status, plan tier, entitlement status, and legal-consent records where required.

We do not collect payment card numbers in the Remloc app. Android subscription purchases are handled by Google Play Billing, and Remloc receives purchase and subscription status information needed to verify and maintain your plan.

Location and place information

Remloc uses location and place information to create and trigger reminders at places you choose. This may include:

• Your device's current location when you grant foreground location permission.
• Background location events needed for saved geofence reminders after you grant the required background location permission.
• Places you search for or select, including place names, addresses or display labels, coordinates, radius settings, provider identifiers, and Google Place IDs.
• Distance and nearby-reminder information calculated by the app.

Where the operating system supports it, geofence monitoring happens on your device. Remloc does not sell your location data, use it for advertising, or use it for cross-app tracking.

You can revoke location permission in your device settings at any time. If you do, reminders that depend on location may stop triggering.

Reminder content

We collect the reminder information you create or choose to sync, including:

• Reminder titles, notes, categories, selected places, coordinates, radius, status, and repeat settings.
• Optional deadline, time-window, time-zone, snooze, follow-up, and prompt preferences.
• Locally bounded activity records, such as completed, restored, snoozed, or reminder lifecycle events.

Some reminder data may remain only on your device. When cloud sync or account features are enabled, reminder data associated with your account may be stored in Firebase so it can be restored or used across supported services.

Smart capture, OCR, voice, and AI extraction

If you use Remloc's smart capture features, you may provide typed text, completed voice transcripts, screenshots, or images so Remloc can suggest structured reminders.

For the current designed flow:

• Screenshot or image pixels are processed on-device for text recognition where supported.
• Remloc sends recognized text, not screenshot pixels, to Firebase AI Logic for structured reminder extraction.
• Remloc sends completed voice transcripts, not raw microphone audio, for structured extraction.
• AI-generated proposals cannot save reminders, confirm places, request permissions, enable monitoring, start navigation, or complete actions without your explicit confirmation.

You can continue using manual reminder creation when OCR, voice, AI, network access, or provider coverage is unavailable.

Device, diagnostics, and usage information

We may collect limited technical information needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service, such as:

• Device type, operating system, app version, language, region, and approximate connectivity state.
• Crash reports, diagnostic logs, error codes, and security events.
• Feature usage events needed to understand reliability, entitlement status, abuse prevention, or support issues.

Remloc's product metrics should be designed to avoid precise individual movement history.

Website and contact information

When you visit remloc.xyz or contact us, we may process information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, message content, and basic technical information needed to deliver the website, respond to requests, and prevent abuse.

How we use information

We use information to:

• Provide location-based reminders, maps, place search, notifications, and related app features.
• Create, authenticate, secure, and maintain user accounts.
• Store reminders, entitlements, preferences, and account status where cloud features are enabled.
• Process smart capture requests and return structured, user-reviewable reminder proposals.
• Verify purchases, restore subscriptions, and manage plan access.
• Provide support, respond to user requests, and troubleshoot issues.
• Improve reliability, accessibility, degraded behavior, and regional provider coverage.
• Prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and security incidents.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce applicable terms.

How we share information

We do not sell personal information. We do not use personal information for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.

We share information only as needed to operate the Service, comply with law, or protect rights and safety. Service providers may include:

• Clerk: account authentication, session management, email verification, and account security.
• Firebase and Google Cloud: Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions, App Check, AI Logic, diagnostics, and other backend services.
• Google Maps Platform: map display, place search, place details, and external navigation support.
• Google Play: Android subscription purchases, purchase verification, entitlement status, refunds, renewals, and related billing operations.
• Device platform services: Apple, Google, and operating-system services for permissions, notifications, local geofencing, speech, text recognition, and app distribution.

We may also disclose information if required by law, legal process, government request, or to protect the rights, privacy, safety, or security of users, Remloc, or others.

Advertising

Remloc does not currently display third-party ads, behavioral ads, personalized ads, or ads based on precise location. If ads are added in the future and the Service is used by children or users whose age is unknown, ads shown to those users will be appropriate for children and will be served only through Google Play Families self-certified ad SDKs or through ads served directly by Remloc, as required by Google Play policy and applicable law.

Data retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, including providing the Service, maintaining your account, complying with legal obligations, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, and preventing abuse.

Current retention behavior includes:

• Local reminders remain on your device until you delete them, clear app data, uninstall the app, or use available app controls.
• Local activity history is bounded to the most recent 100 entries.
• Account, synced reminder, entitlement, and purchase verification records may be retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period after account closure where required for security, billing, tax, support, or legal reasons.
• We may retain de-identified or aggregated information that no longer reasonably identifies you.

Your choices and controls

You can:

• Create, edit, complete, or delete reminders in the app.
• Grant or revoke location, notification, camera, microphone, and other device permissions through app flows or device settings.
• Use manual reminder creation when optional capture, AI, or provider services are unavailable or unwanted.
• Sign out of your account from the app.
• Contact us to request account deletion, data deletion, access, correction, or export.

Until in-app account deletion and export controls are fully implemented, send privacy requests to nnaemeka.ugwokegbe@echo1ict.com.ng. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. We aim to respond within 30 days unless a different period is required by applicable law.

Regional privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information. You may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

Remloc is designed for global availability. Regional legal requirements, provider availability, data residency, language support, subscription rules, and consumer-protection obligations must be reviewed before each production launch.

International transfers

Remloc and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. These countries may have data-protection laws that differ from those in your region. Where required, we rely on appropriate legal mechanisms and safeguards for international transfers.

Current technical architecture includes Firebase/Google Cloud services and Clerk services. The current development Firestore database is in us-central1, and some Cloud Functions are deployed in europe-west1. Production regions and data-residency commitments must be reviewed before launch.

Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including:

• Clerk session verification for sensitive backend operations.
• Firebase custom-token exchange after verified Clerk authentication.
• Firestore rules that restrict user reminder and entitlement data to the authenticated owner.
• Platform secure storage for session cache data.
• App Check and platform integrity controls where configured.
• API-key restrictions, quota controls, and provider security reviews.

No internet or mobile service can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Please use a strong password, keep your device secure, and contact us if you believe your account or data has been compromised.

Children's privacy and Families policy

If Remloc is made available to children in a target age group, we handle child users and users whose age is unknown under child-protective rules. Children should use the Service only with permission from a parent or legal guardian where required by applicable law.

For children and users whose age is unknown, Remloc is designed to:

• Provide only app content that is appropriate for children.
• Avoid selling personal information, behavioral advertising, cross-app tracking, and advertising based on precise location.
• Avoid transmitting Android Advertising ID, SIM serial, build serial, BSSID, MAC, SSID, IMEI, IMSI, or device phone number from children or users whose age is unknown.
• Use APIs and SDKs in a way that is approved for child-directed use or placed behind a neutral age screen when the feature is intended only for older users.
• Collect only the personal information needed to provide the Service and obtain parental consent where required by laws such as COPPA, GDPR, or other local child-privacy rules.

Parents and guardians may contact nnaemeka.ugwokegbe@echo1ict.com.ng to request access, correction, deletion, or other help with a child's information. If we learn that we collected personal information from a child without required consent, we will take appropriate steps to delete it or obtain the required consent.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date. For material changes, we will provide additional notice where required, such as in-app notice, website notice, email, or another appropriate method.
